Spring's here!

One view from my livingroom

Yeah! Back in Charlemagne after a nice chilled Easter-break.
For once I chose to stay in Belgium for Easter expecting the weather could only be better than back home in DK (at least warmer – 1000 km’s south does make a difference).
As I seem to be escaping this place a.k.a. Belgium each holiday-season, I was ready to take the Grand Tour in this new (175 years old anyway) mish mash country that I’ve, after all, been living in for more than 5 years *cough*. But those of ye who chose to stay in Belgium too, knows that anywhere else could have been just as optional (rain). Anyway, I’ve chilled big time, been to Gent, Rixensart and Holland. Seen friends and family, and isn’t that what Easter is all about?? Like Christmas and birthdays, and New Year, and summer-time and... Hmmm, perhaps we just like to give gatherings reasons – Christians or not.
So, how have ya’ll been? (all of ye frequent readers out there, yeah! ...so, well, anyway)

Right now, the sun is peaking in through my window here on 5th floor, the people down on the street have left their scarves at home and the trees are just getting greener – I’m suspecting them for avoiding spring-time and head straight for summer with the speed of it - but suppose we’ll get used to global warming eventually! ;p TLP is doing what he’s best at on my stereo (but it's only about music thou... Could have been nice if he was good at something else too, and that he was actually on my stereo), and quite frankly I’m following the trees, can’t wait for summer’s here either! It’s about 15 degrees which is enough to feel that exciting summer-vibe growing inside (wonder now, is that what they call Waking the hormones-season??).

But do you know what season it really is right now? I’ll tell you!!! (I bet you know I will)
Iiiiiiit’s, Loosing-10-Kilo-Before-Summer-season! Waaaay!!
People are like busy bees buzzing around those fitness-centers, who btw are without a doubt spinning a considerable large amount of gold these days. I know very well, as I too jumped on the healthy band-wagon and passed one of the clubs – one thing is to move your body around the arena but another thing is to save up for taking it out for drinks, parties and traveling with those prices for getting a member-ship! Man! It is outraaageous expensive just for moving your own body around to MTV for an hour (hehe, could have been more fun moving other bodies around, ha??) – like you obviously cannot have a life after loosing those damn 10 kilos. And then I ask myself, whaaat’s the point then?!
So I'll say, save the money and do some stretching on the way to the bar! (I think it’s called Pilates??). Sure looks silly standing with your but high in the air trying to reach your feet even when wearing high heals in the middle of Rue de la Loi, but hey, who’s the one being able to enjoy happy hour AFTER happy hour? Ha? Haaa??!

Warming up for summer and the million of music-events that’ll be on, again, this year, one does what it gotta take to be ready. Personally, I’ve been warming up by hanging around various bars and clubs all winter advancing myself in not only consuming umbrella-drinks, a.k.a cocktails (however they made up that word), but also been throwing my body around on 'happened-to-be-there'-dance-floors showing my latest looks-too-cool-in-the-mirror-moves (hopefully cannot be compared to the singing-favorite-songs-in-the-shower-singing…if-you-get-my-drift-thing. ..right, I should probably stop going to Holland for a while...).

Ok-ok, I'll move on in the text... My car must have passed all possible tests during this winter making it the perfect asset for getting me to the places outside Brussels (plus-points by driving are that if it stinks – like, literally – too much on the way, you roll down the window. You can’t do that in the train, you just have to live with the smell for another 38 km’s – yyyeeeeerk!!). My car is just as ready for summer as I am. It has been through so much that it gotta have the most hard-core urban spirit by now! You can place it in the middle of a festival with screaming people swinging from side to side, either in move to the music or just because they can’t help it, spilling their drinks all over the place and my car can without a doubt, handle it!
What else. Ah, yeah, not to forget what I call ‘pre-festivals’. Small local festivals have started around the country and in the city. They know. People need to be warmed up for the chaos of festivals, various music-events and partying that will be arriving soon.
On 28th April the first summer-is-coming-party starts - in my agenda that is (www.feteduprogres.be).
The very next day, I will be heading to Petrol in Antwerpen because the Glimmers are for once playing in Belgium (!!!) Those who know or have been know that it should NOT be missed. And that's what I call an original warm-up for summer-time! (www.glimmertwins.com)

So, summer will be bringing lots of various habitual festivals such as Rock Werchter, Marktrock, Couleur Café, Polé Polé, Gentse Feesten, Jazz Marathon, National Day, etc, etc, etc and etc. But! More about that later on this summer. Stay around for wicked updates, you know there will be some..

Right! I think it’s time to change the CD to something more relaxing, I think it’s time for the soft deep voice that still makes me weak in my knees when he songs for me, here's my man, Mister Barry White!
Take care, till next time, Peace out homies! And kids, don't drink at home, your parents might noticed, confiscate it and drink it themselves!! (I hate it, I hate it, I hate it, I hate it).
BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP....
You have just listened to FMizzChrizz on 106,8, stay tuned for more after this short break...

Hey! Surely can be concluded from (most of the) above, that I am definitely looking forward to the summer!! And seems that the reasons keep coming in here on my hotline. Wanna know? Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it... Are you waiting? Sorry, requires more waiting. But m
eanwhile in the bush..

Drinking-rehearsal with Jean on Paddy's Day - couldn't have done it without the hats! Simply as that..
