What??! What happened yesterday??! 'Scuse-me?!
Doesn't anyone think this is embarrassing to the EU? First of all (a lot of other things too - but), we call in for a crises-meeting the day before – sorry, the hours before this decision – and we start saying, No.
Then we say Perhaps.
Then we say ‘finally’ No.
Then US takes their all-time liberty to express their support to Turkey (and greedily sits and hopes about future military-deals and a lot of knowledge about terrorists), and then the EU agrees to start negotiations!
I don’t really know what this 'organisation' stands for anymore.
I don’t really know what this 'organisation' stands for anymore.
As well as democracy has become a shot in the fog – a fog of cigar-smoke that becomes more and more thick by a few people who’s only political aim is to make it to the history-books while smoking their lungs out, these people who neither consider the history they are producing!
I.e. yesterday Europe looked more like a big useless puppy who did not know whether to go and get milk from its mother or to grab the bone – finally Europe decided to go for the milk – still after 55 years)
Meanwhile, Turkey's PM didn't show too much enthusiasm (like he ever did – except for claiming what he is convinced belongs to him – as, as far as I can see/read, he expresses himself that the EU belongs to him and not the other way around). He looked, as usually - and therefore always will (as you cannot change people by mass-producing laws and regulations) most of all like his only concerns were if he could not be a member of our Christen Club. He says out loud whether the EU is a power player or a Christen club, and we accept that? Yes, we do. He sits and waits for the blue plane with the yellow stars to come and pick him up. And we did.
What can I say, Mr Straw, you got your name in the history-books, congrats, well-done and then I sincerely hope your children and their children will be proud of that...
