Picture time!!! From Couleur Café 2005

Aaaah, NOW we're talking summer in Belgium! :o)
Couleur Café festival is the absolute brilliant 3-day swinging latino festival, same time, same place, every year, in Brussels (the only difference is that it gets b i g g e r every year :o))
http://couleurcafe.be

Being a Dane it's ok I say, that they got Latino food, latino clothes, latino drinks (Mojitos, yum-yum!!), latino music, chicas (incl. me of course! ;)) and... Hombres!!! Oooooooo-lé!!!!

Unfortunately I only got to go one day, but I went with a very nice crowd (I remember you Reg! ;p). Started off with a dinner at home for 12 people – which remind me that, Laura and I will create a guide for how you manage to cook and set a table for 12 people in 1 hour... We were quite impressed ourselves! (Well-done us! And where are the photos from the dinner, btw?? Laura, Jean?). Afterwards we went to the festival of Latino-world (once again, I’m Danish, to me it was a Latino-w o r l d, and how come we don’t have that at home..? Haven't heard of blonde latinos before??!)!! Anyway, had we remembered, we would have been eating at the festival - the dishes are massive, delicious and for a good price! (if you didn’t notice yet, I quite like food...).

Anyway, personally I had to go and see the one and only... MACEEEOOOOOO Parker! (Unfortunately there’s no other way for me to say his name. MAACEEEEOOO! See?! ... And where were you, Dan???!!! Tsssssss). Mette, I got to see 5 minutes of ‘Orishas’ ...for you, for me, for us! – but next time you better be HERE! Yeah, I know, scandal, but MACEEEEEOOOO were programmed 10 minutes after Orishas started, I had to leave them.... (There are 3 stages at the festival, btw).

When the festival closed at around 02, we went to Le Cercle (a desperate bar trying to get desperate people to come. We weren’t desperate, we just went there! What'ya think!? ...tssss).
There were no desperate people this Saturday night at Le Cercle. In fact, there were no people at all. Until we came! (the doors went up. A gang of 12 people entered the place - they took over the bar, they took over the dance-floor, they took over the straws and every single umbrella in the bar - and there were not enough ice-cubes to cool them down...)
Yeah, ok. We definitely had fun, like!

I'll stop the babbling, it's picture-time!!!

Have a nice one (we did, as you can see)

PS – Leaving for holidays on Monday
PPS - Eventually, when I know how to do, the text and photos will actually match...

The stage where MACCEEEOOO were playing. Class man, class...

sigh

MACCEEEOOOO!!!
(...as he could probably looked like after a couple of mojitos...)
- Maceo! Maceo, pwfffft! Over here! Hello!! Maceooooo!!!

Unfortuantely, he is still blurred, but the concert was class, as I already said, just, simply class. As usual.

Imagine all the a**-shaking he can see from there! Wooh! I'm telling you, mine wasn't still for a sec there! (No wonder your room feels like it's turning around when you're lying in bed afterwards! ...Mmmh... Ah! Now I get it! ;p)

Lots of happy moments!!!
Yeah mama!
My head, Pedro, Jean, Hussein, Reg and Laura

We are moving closer to the end of the evening.
But closer to the beginning of the night! Let it on!!!

Before 'shakin' it' - a nice little group-hug!
Laura, Anna, me and Jean

And now! Paaaaaartyyyyyy!!!

And we're shaken'it and shaken'it and shaken'it and... Aaaall. Niiight. Loooong...

Where are you going on holidays?

I feel like I’ve been digesting a full 10 K sack of Pedigree Pal!! Got out of bed waaaay too early this morning (you get out of bed too early, when your alarm clock only goes off while you’re in the shower) – but I managed to get to work at the usual hour, as I just can’t speed it up in the mornings, and when I see I have loads of time, I’m definitely NOT making an effort to meet earlier at work (are you crazy??!). Oh no, I have all the time in the world to get ready now. And just exactly who gets in too late? Again?
Anyway, holidays are approaching.

These days the most popular popped question is; when and where are you going on holidays?
First reaction when I answer Denmark “Ah, nice! ...And then you go where?”
When I am actually serious about spending my summer-holidays in Denmark, people seem to try hard to hide the massive question mark in their forehead; But for TWO weeks???!”
Now, after 5th time explaining that Denmark actually ain’t that cold, and ‘no, you can’t ski there during summer either’ (and for you guys who might not know, you can’t even ski there in winter time. Yeah, it’s true, you can’t – we don’t have one single mountain, and actually not even that much snow) But when I ask how many times people has been in Denmark it’s not really that many either. You guys simply don’t know what you’re missing ;o)

I can recommend two things one should try at least once in a life:
1. To stand on the top of a snowy mountain and take a deep breath. (And this is strongly recommended, btw!)
2. Go and see Denmark - just to know that it’s not always that cold ;) (for me, pleeeeeease)

I can say a lot about Denmark but I just want to make one thing clear once and for all. It is hot in the summertime! Mwahahahaha, ok, of course not as hot as like Spain or somewhere (and I can hear everyone goes “brrrr” ;)). But still, I guess we have like 20-25 in average, but in the last couples of summers we’ve had periods even up to 33-38 degrees (wauw!). And that too makes the sea around Copenhagen, and up and down that coast that follows Sweden, quite hot too! And some years ago a new park was also build along the Copenhagen canal, and today you can lie in the grass and go swimming in the canal, it’s brilliant! Because of the water in the canal is actually that clean it is now allowed to go swimming in the canal. But as ships still sail through here, you obviously have to stay only in the like closed-off pools – unless you like a challenge – and a remarkable high fine. These places are super popular of course – and mostly in the summer... I think they’re planning to build a third (or fourth?) one. And as far as I remember the second should be out at the new shopping-mall! Awesome ladies!!! “Pjew, I feel like a break! Let’s go to the pool and have a drink, before we continue to fourth and fifth floor”. Squeeze-me, but that is pretty cool, if I should say so myself J

Anyway, that’s also why I’m going to Denmark, but first things first. Family and friends. Amazing how much you miss them when you’re living abroad. And especially when you sometimes feel you really just wanna be home. Not even because you’ve had a bad day or anything, you just wanna be home – like that. The first picture posted below on this blog is from one of the good spots to go to if the missing gets too much...

So if I’m not gonna post anything here for a while, you know why.
Cos I’m on holidays! At home!! ...in minus 10 degrees! On NO maountains!!! Weird, I know!!!!! ;)

I hope you will enjoy your holidays, and go somewhere exotic as Norway or something!! ;-p

Later ppl

Wonderful Copenhagen!

What a difference!

I got cool friends, who knows about settings and options and stuff. I now know how to change the French setting into English, and I'm telling you, this is a whole other world!!!
Wooh, Im excited! So many options! (- and such a little brain and so many pleasures... - Yeah, I heard you!).

And you know what?! You can't comment on this part! One of the small pleasures. And if you comment to this one on the next one, it wont be relevant anymore.

Dan, here's for you! There's only one, but let me know if you want more?

Already Blogging annoyed!

Yeah that's right! After 4.5 year, I'm gettin' a communication-source ongoing from me to ye all, so you know what's going on 'these days'..

Very very first, wauw Lisbet, thank you, thank you, thank you. I don't know how many drafts are still waiting to be send out about life in Bxl from my mailbox.

But on the note! This entire blog is aparently generated from the server you operate from, and mine is obviously a serveur français, and I might have added links under posts and so on. Not to worry, Ms Complaint will let someone know about this - and someone will probably end up telling me; ehm..just push this bottom here saying DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE LANGUAGE, STUPIDO??? Ah well, on the other hand I will just have to improve my French, and that is about time!

Later everyone, and welcome! Enjoy! I hope!!
Christina :o)

This is not Belgium, this is Holland.
Holland is close to Belgium, so this photo is relevant.
